Understanding Legal Frameworks
Every legal issue-whether it involves housing, debt, contracts, or civil rights-operates within a structured legal framework. At its core, a legal framework is built from four primary sources:
Statutes-Laws enacted by legislatures at the federal or state level. These define rights, duties, and prohibited conduct.
Case Law-Courts rely heavily on precedent when resolving disputes.
Procedural Rules-Rules that govern how a case moves through the system.
Administrative Regulations-
Rules created by government agencies that carry the force of law in specific subject areas.
